Job Description

1. Job Overview The Export Merchandiser will play a crucial role in managing the export process, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products to international clients. This position requires a strong understanding of export regulations, logistics, and market trends. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

2. Key Responsibilities

Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and logistics to ensure smooth export operations
Conduct market research to stay updated on global market trends, competitor analysis, and customer requirements
Develop and maintain strong relationships with international clients, responding to their queries and resolving issues promptly
Negotiate prices, lead times, and other terms with suppliers and clients to achieve business objectives
Prepare and submit export documentation, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin
Collaborate with freight forwarders and shipping lines to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods
Monitor and analyze export performance metrics, including shipment volumes, revenue, and customer satisfaction
Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with export operations, such as non-compliance with regulations or supply chain disruptions

3. Required

Skills Technical skills:
knowledge of export regulations (e.g., EXIM policy, customs procedures), international trade agreements, and logistics management.
Soft skills:
excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

4. Qualifications & Experience The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., international business, logistics, or commerce) and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in export merchandising or a related field. Relevant certifications, such as a diploma in export management, would be an added advantage.

5. Preferred Skills Proficiency in export management software, such as SAP or Oracle, and experience with data analysis and reporting tools would be preferred. Additionally, knowledge of foreign languages, such as English, and experience working with international clients would be an asset.
