Job Description
Jey Key Rugs is looking for a Quality Controller responsible for inspecting handmade rugs and carpets at different stages of production and ensuring that finished products meet buyer specifications and company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect rugs during weaving, finishing and final QC stages.
- Check size, weight/GSM, colour, design, construction and overall appearance against approved specifications.
- Identify weaving defects such as loose weaving, uneven weaving, lines, holes, missing yarn, incorrect pattern and other workmanship issues.
- Check edges, binding, fringes, backing, trimming and finishing quality.
- Check rugs for stains, dirt, oil marks, glue visibility, colour variation and other visual defects.
- Verify measurements and permissible tolerances according to buyer requirements.
- Compare production with approved samples, specifications and buyer standards.
- Identify rugs requiring repair/rework and ensure corrections are completed before approval.
- Conduct final inspection before packing and prevent defective products from being packed or dispatched.
- Maintain QC inspection and rejection/rework records in ERP/reports.
- Analyse recurring defects and inform Production/Management about quality problems.
- Coordinate with weaving, finishing, production, merchandising and packing teams for corrective action.
- Ensure correct labels, barcodes, packaging and buyer-specific requirements before final packing.
- Assist during buyer/third-party inspections when required.
- Help improve quality standards and reduce rejection and rework.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in carpet/rug/textile quality control preferred.
- Understanding of handmade/handwoven carpet construction will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of measurement and quality inspection.
- Ability to identify weaving and finishing defects.
- Basic computer and ERP knowledge.
- Good observation and attention to detail.
- Able to coordinate firmly with production workers and supervisors.
- Should be willing to work on the factory floor.
Experience:
2–5 years preferred, ideally in rugs, carpets or home textiles.
Education:
Graduate/Diploma preferred. Textile Technology, Textile Engineering or Textile-related qualification.
